Kaliachak Bikram Kishore Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya a premier centre of Sanskrit teaching and learning was recognised as Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi from the 1st of April 1998. The Mahavidyalaya began its journey in a beautiful and ecologically friendly campus with qualified, dedicated, untiring and well competent faculty members and well supportive hardworking and dedicated. non teaching staff, cooperative and always concerned Management Committee. The Mahavidyalaya from its inception is committed to its motto of maintaining qualitative standard in higher education and also in developing human, aesthetic and cultural values of the students. The Mahavidyalaya began with a very modest infrastructure and with the active support from the donor family, founder Chairman and the local well wishers and donors, the local representatives of the state government and cooperation of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan can now boast of adequate infrastructure.
The Mahavidyalaya is a Post Graduate (P.G.) degree college imparting Sanskrit teaching in the traditional streams of Sahitya, Vyakarana, Dharmashastra and Adwait Vedanta along with modern streams of Sociology, English and Bengali in the Under Graduate (U.G.) level. Located in a remotest rural locality of the district of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, the Mahavidyalaya draws a sizeable number of students from the nearby locality, adjoining districts and also from the state of Odisha. The students’ studying here comes from all sections of the society and all caste, creed and religions are well represented. The Mahavidyalaya strictly adhere to the prescribed teaching schedule and examinations are conducted as per the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Academic Calendar. The students of the Mahavidyalaya have shown excellent performance in the examinations conducted by the University.
Excellence is also observed among the students in co-curricular activities where in a large number of students participates in the Annual Sports and Cultural Competition held every year. The students also actively participate in the cultural programs that are organized to celebrate Sanskrit Day, Fresher’s Welcome, Teachers Day and Annual Function. The students also participated as individual and team in All India Level Sanskrit Students Talent festivals and events and have come out with flying colours. Prof Kishore Chandra Padhy our Honourable Chairperson who acts a fatherly figure and is to all of us a philosopher and a guide is the inspiration to our entire endeavour.
The Mahavidyalaya family welcomes one and all in this new academic session and with the active cooperation and support of all the stakeholders and well-wishers will surely achieve all its desired goals in future.
